From 17 November to 16 December 2025, the exhibition Strength Has Many Faces is on display at Zuidplein in Rotterdam. This special exhibition celebrates the strength and resilience of young people with disabilities. Each portrait tells a personal story about what it means to “be able” in daily life.
“Inclusion is not a nice gesture but a way of living and working together.”
A symbolic red thread runs through all portraits, sometimes clearly visible, sometimes subtly woven into the image. It reminds us that despite our differences, we all share the same fundamental need: to be seen, valued, and included.
“We do not need pity, but equal opportunities. And equal opportunities mean removing barriers, not lowering expectations.”
Admire the powerful portraits of our models: Demi, Erhun, Imaibell, Ingo, Jun Jun, Maartje, Marnix, Menno, and Xueli photographed by five talented Rotterdam-based photographers:
Saskia Bogarde, Kyra ten Brink, Rosella Fennis, Frauke van Lierop, and Eliza-Sophie Sekrève.
Location: Zuidplein Rotterdam (Gooilandsingel 95, 3083 DP Rotterdam)
Date: 17 November – 16 December 2025
