On 2 December 2025, during the week of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the Open Eyes Foundation and IDEM will host a special Living Library event in Rotterdam. This unique gathering features the resilient young people showcased in our exhibition.
During the event, a group of young people with disabilities will take the stage as “living books.” They will share their real and personal stories — about school, work, dreams, identity, and overcoming daily obstacles. Under the guidance of IDEM’s moderator, the audience is invited to ask questions, engage in conversation, and connect directly with the experiences of the storytellers.
The Living Library offers a rare opportunity to participate in open and honest dialogue, and to gain a deeper understanding of the visible and invisible challenges faced by young people with disabilities.
