Rotterdam, January 2025 – The Open Eyes Foundation has officially released its new Policy Plan for 2025–2027. Founded by international model and UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Xueli Abbing, the foundation continues its mission to combat discrimination and promote inclusion, particularly for young people with albinism.
With the guiding message “Open your eyes to the world as diverse as it is,” the foundation outlines a comprehensive roadmap for the next three years. Key priorities include global advocacy, awareness campaigns, education-focused initiatives, and strategic partnerships with both local and international organizations.
Highlights from the new plan include:
-
Raising awareness about albinism and challenging harmful myths and misinformation;
-
Empowering marginalized youth through education, media, and storytelling;
-
Actively participating in International Albinism Awareness Day and UN-related initiatives;
-
Strengthening collaborations and developing new outreach projects.
“Discrimination is still a harsh reality for many people around the world,” says founder Xueli Abbing. “With this new policy plan, we aim to increase our impact and continue to speak up for those whose voices are often ignored.”
